Our Team
Our core team comprises a group of designers, Architects, Engineers, Researchers, and Media and Communication experts who are passionate about building a better world with their expertise. We also established a broader network of local partners, including local NGOs, Charities and Education Institutions, to serve the frontline and facilitate on-site operations. With Hong Kong as our base, it gives us geographical convenience to travel to Great China, South East Asia and nearby places, and we seek full and part-time volunteers to join our network to transform spaces for those in need.

How We Started
From mlkk to hare
Humanistic Architecture and REsearch (仁建築 HARE) is a not-for-profit group. Begun in 2014 by the founders of the Architectural Practice MLKK Studio, the group is supported under MLKK’s social design sector and is committed to social innovation and architectural design. The group started their first project, Rural Music Academy Campus, in Myanmar in 2015. After that, they continued their dedication to numerous social-spatial design innovation projects in Hong Kong, South-East Asia and East Africa.
In 2021, MLKK’s social design sector officially matured into an independent registered charity, Humanistic Architecture and REsearch (仁建築 HARE). Now listed under Section 88 of IRO Hong Kong, HARE continues to work hand in hand with MLKK Studio to Deliver professional and socially meaningful design and architectural projects.
